Room With A View
Many WA families take pleasure in having their family entertainment areas overlooking their beautiful swimming pools. There is nothing better than being able to admire your pool while enjoying a game of billiards, or watching television. This is why the Doyle family of Perth chose to build their pool adjacent to their enclosed games room in their new house.
Their enormous, Titan fibreglass swimming pool is 8.2m long by 3.3m wide and includes an attractive grand arch-entry area and two corner swim-outs. Hand rails have been fitted to one side of the pool to assist the owner with daily entry and exit of the pool that is relied upon for physiotherapy and rehabilitation exercises.
Mr and Mrs Doyle have surrounded their pool with thick palms, ferns, and fragrant frangipanis to provide their very own tropical getaway. To complete this stunning tropical backdrop, Balinese stone statues have been placed throughout the rich foliage adding an extra touch of interest to the pool’s scenery.
Limestone bullnose headers and dark wooden decking are contrasted beautifully to complete the picturesque view. The decking leads to an open entertainment area complete with bar fridge and a relaxing seating area. This alfresco area is situated directly opposite the games room, over the pool, giving the impression of a much wider space around the pool. Elegant, self-closing, French doors open the games room to the pool to allow maximum access to the whole backyard in the warmer months.
The fencing surrounding the pool needed to be addressed differently, due to the inability of the owner to reach high to open gates. Therefore all doors surrounding the pool were fitted with automatic closing systems to ensure the pool complied with pool and safety regulations.
